Spain

IES Azud de Aleitami We first made contact via the e-twinning portal. We now exchange news via letter and email and our students share information about their families, city and interests. We are intending to start a project where students produce PowerPoints to introduce their city and talk about tourism in our respective home towns. These PowerPoints will be shared in class
IES SAN CLEMENTE COMPOSTELA We first made contact via the e-twinning portal when I was working at another school and we were involved in the Christmas Exchange project which ran for several years and won Quality Awards and a European Quality Label. We now exchange news via letter and email and our students share information about their families, city and interests. We are intending to start a project where students produce PowerPoints to introduce their city and talk about tourism in our respective home towns. These PowerPoints will be shared in class. We will also taking part in the Christmas Card Exchange again this year.
University of Alicante Students from the University have taken part in an Erasmus programme at Tile Cross Academy (formerly The International School ) for the past three years. In 2019, Senorita Blanca Martínez Martínez will be joining us for four months to gain an understanding of the British educational system and to gain further knowledge of British culture. Our GCSE Spanish students will also benefit greatly from intensive language sessions with the Assistant.

IES DE VALLADA This school is involved in the Erasmus ‘Inclusion Through Farming’ project.
IES Fernando de los Ríos We first made contact through the Christmas Card Exchange, 2017 and will continue to keep in touch via the Christmas Exchange, 2018.
Maristes Valldemia Mr.Neil Mackinstosh first made contact with this school. He successfully won an International School Programme Exchange grant to establish a link which enables 20 of our GCSE students to travel to Spain and spend time in a school in Mataró, to discover more about Spanish culture and improve their understanding of the Spanish and Catalan languages.

France

IREO Saint Fulgent Students from the college have taken part in a work experience programme at Tile Cross Academy (formerly The International School )in the past. Interested parties from the school now contact us directly to ask if a placement is available. This placement will last for four weeks and will enable the French students to gain a good understanding of the British educational system and to gain further knowledge of British culture. Our students will also benefit from the interaction with the foreign visitors to the school. This will be the fourth year of our collaboration. Unfortunately, although we are still in contact with IREO St. Fulgent, the institute is not sending students to the U.K. for the 2019 work placements.
COLLEGE HENRI BECQUEREL Madame Kathy Germain and Mrs. Jacqueline Kelly first made contact via the e-twinning portal and have followed each other to subsequent schools. We take part in the Christmas Exchange every year. We also exchange news via letter and email and our students share information about their families, home town and interests.

Pakistan
PAKISTAN SCOUTS CADET COLLEGE This is a long-standing partnership between our two establishments. Reciprocal visits have been made by staff and pupils over recent years and we have been able to compare educational policies and methods. The partnership has enabled our pupils to broaden their horizons, appreciate a very different type of education and strive for academic excellence. We have recently been awarded a Connecting Schools grant to fund further collaborations with this institution. The project will run from January, 2019 for 18 months. Our STEM coordinator will be in charge of the project as it will focus on science and geography and highlight environmental issues. In addition, our Urdu pupils will be writing and emailing the pupils in Pakistan to get to know each other better and to improve their linguistic skills. Reciprocal visits will feature as part of this project.

United Kingdom

WELBECK DEFENCE 6TH FORM COLLEGE Training Ship Stirling of the Sea Cadets Corps is based at Tile Cross Academy. Several pupils are members of the cadets. Two teachers from Tile Cross run the cadets and organise activities with other organisations, notably with Welbeck College. In recent years, pupils from the Academy have taken part in a week long project in the United States.with students from Welbeck and students from other establishments based in the United States. Teachers at the Academy are committed to running this project every summer
