AN INTRODUCTION TO THE COURSE
BTEC Health & Social Care is a practical, work-related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations and activities. You need to enjoy research and working both independently and with others. You also need to be organised and to be good at English. Having completed this vocational course, you may wish to progress to a higher level qualification relevant to this sector e.g. further study at Advanced Level or BTEC Subsidiary Diploma. You could study or train to work in nursing or health care, social work with people of all ages, teaching, nursery or pre-school education.
WHAT THE COURSE INVOLVES
You will need to complete coursework for 6 units as follows:-
HOW THE COURSE IS ASSESSED
One unit will be externally assessed in a two hour examination and other units are assessed within school. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
This course is worth the equivalent of 1 GCSE and is awarded a Pass, Merit, Distinction & Distinction*
