Voice 21 Oracy School

This year, as part of a focus on oracy, we are a Voice 21 Oracy School. We believe that every young person should leave school able to express their ideas, communicate with confidence and speak eloquently. These vital skills are captured by the word ‘oracy’ which was coined in the 1960s to give spoken language parity with literacy and numeracy. Voice 21, the national oracy education charity, is working with teachers and schools across the UK to support the development of oracy in schools.

Over the course of the year ahead, we are looking forward to using more talk to support learning in lessons and creating more opportunities for our young people to be heard beyond the classroom.
