Duke of Ed Shustoke Reservoir Expedition

An intrepid group of 22 Duke of Edinburgh students set out on their first attempt at navigation on a bright sunny April Saturday morning. We headed up to Shustoke Reservoir, navigated up through Whitacre Heath and back to the reservoir. Every group managed to find their way back to the minibus albeit by sometimes a very circuitous route. It was also the first time of trying out the grid reference app which meant that Mrs Bowden could easily work out where the groups were when they went off track. The students, somewhat tired, all returned with smiles on their faces despite a few having found the only patches of mud on the route and therefore were a lot less clean than when they started! Well done to all of you!
Many thanks to Mrs Pemberton, Daffie the dog and Ms Begum for helping out; without them volunteering to come along the trip would not have happened.
