Drama Club at the Birmingham Rep . . . A success!

On Wednesday 9th July 2025, pupils from Drama Club across Years 7 and 9 took part in the annual school’s festival at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre in the city centre. This year’s theme was called Home and Horizons.

Our dedicated Drama club has been directed once again by Jasmin Hylton, who writes and directs shows for the Rep. Pupils spent the afternoon rehearsing and preparing for their final performance on the custom-made stage for the school festival.

The original play was written by Jasmin and the students and is centred on a simple act of defiance, which turns to curiosity, and then slowly into a nightmare . . .

The final performance was a success! Pupils showed courage, talent and lots of energy in front of a proud and encouraging audience of families and pupils from one other schools.

Massive congratulations to Evie Berry, Megan Dwane, Maya Haden-Thomas, Faith Hammond, Kalisa Jordan, Kaitlyn McFall, Pippa Musticone, Fatim Seye, Lacey Sherwin and Latisha Higgs-Batticks for their endless commitment during weekly rehearsals throughout the year and for the performance itself. I’m excited to confirm that we will be taking part in next year's festival.

Drama Club will continue as an after-school activity from September and would love some new members to join the cast. Some pupils have been asking about joining us and it would be great to have a bigger cast next year.
