Duke of Edinburgh Walking Expedition

Twenty-seven DofE students went on a practise navigation day walk in March. We started at Shustoke Reservoir and took a circular route up through Nether Whitacre and back to the reservoir covering about 7 km. Whilst it had threatened rain and underfoot it was definitely very muddy, the weather held and the sun even made an appearance. The intrepid explorers were split into five groups and all groups were successful in completing the route in good time with only minor deviations from the actual route. This bodes well for their qualifying expedition which will be at the end of June - location yet to be decided. Well done to everyone and thank you to the staff who helped out as without them there would be no expeditioning.
